Are you passionate about supporting young people? Have you ever thought you would like to work or volunteer with and alongside young people? Are you based in the Cotswolds and feel young people need more positive things to do?

Youth & Community organisations Young Gloucestershire & World Jungle have teamed to offer a fun interactive training session to support those who are interested in working with young people. The training will take place online via Zoom on 14th October at 6pm and will last about an hour and a half.

The training will give participants an opportunity to find out what is going on the Cotswolds, what youth projects there are, and what opportunities for volunteering exist. It will also help to increase participants confidence and skills to engage with young people and help ensure their voices are heard in the area.

Ben Ward Director of World Jungle says “ Thanks to the three year partnership funding for the Cotswold Youth Network which we recently received from the Community Fund, we are in a strong position to create more opportunities for young people. We want to engage people from across the Cotswolds to support us with this. We believe that together with young people we can create more local opportunities for young people so they don’t have to travel to Gloucester or Bristol for things to do. This training will be great for anyone interested in this area or looking to gain some new skills.”

Honor Bining Schools & Community Lead for Young Gloucestershire says “ We know young people have had a particularly hard time due to lockdown. Many services and activities that would normally have happened have been cancelled due to lockdown. We hope by encouraging more people to get involved in youth work and in supporting young people we can create more things for young people to do and support them in these challenging times.”

If you are interested in taking part in the training then email jane@worldjungle.org.uk to book your free place or phone Ben on 0788951264.

World Jungle is an award-winning social enterprise that believes great ideas and activities are for sharing. We learn and grow (both as individuals and teams) from new experiences; doing and thinking in ways we haven’t done before. Through creative activities World Jungle provide opportunities for people to develop, learn, thrive and have a greater influence on their world.

Young Gloucestershire is a countywide charity that supports disadvantaged young people who are facing challenges in their lives.

Cotswold Youth Network is network of youth & community organisations across the Cotswolds working together to improve the lives of young people. The network has three years partnership funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to help make this happen and will be organising events and training across the district.
