Below is a message from Susan Brown of the Rissington Local Historical Society
REMINDER – we have an exciting talk on ZOOM booked for Friday 15th January at 2.30pm. WOODCHESTER MANSION – an unfinished neo-gothic masterpiece – by Liz Davenport. This Mansion near Stroud – built in the Victorian era for the Leigh family – stands as an unfinished masterpiece. Hear and see how it was constructed and why it was never completed.
This talk is a change to the published programme as the original speaker is unable to present his talk on Zoom.
You shouldn’t need to manually put in the Meeting ID and Passcode – it should go straight in clicking on the link. They’re provided in case people have trouble with the link.
We have 2 further talks on Zoom lined up for you.
- Friday February 19th 2.30pm – Virtual Tour of Cheltenham with Captain Skillimore in Regency dress!! by Phil Collins (a change to the programme)
- Friday March 12th at 7.30pm – Child Labour in 19C Oxfordshire by Liz Woolley
David Jones of Stroud Civic Society is kindly setting up the Zoom and will host the meeting on the day on our behalf which is very kind of him. The speakers do need to be paid – as does the subscription to Zoom – so a donation would be nice if you are not a member.
Below is a poster of a talk by Paul Barnett who has spoken to us in the past – he is giving a talk on Tuesday 12th Jan at 7.30pm – see poster for details.
