Moreton’s Remembrance Parade – 8th November

The plan for Moreton’s remembrance parade is as follows for this year, under Covid-19 restrictions-

It will be a simple Remembrance service held at the war memorial from 10:30 am Sunday 8th November.
The car park and service road will be coned off to allow for the public to pay their respects. The “Rule of 6” will be required unless you are a family group. I will be in attendance to ensure social distancing is in place and to assist with any traffic issues. The main road will not be closed off, so care must be taken crossing and standing near to the memorial. The council will put out cones the night before to stop any parking on the memorial. Social distancing spots will be put down for those to stand on waiting to place the wreaths being laid. Only one representative will be allow per organisation to lay a wreath. The short service will start at 10:50 am and the sounding of the last post at 11:00am with a two minute silence. Then the laying of wreaths will take place.

APPEAL for a trumpet player – There current isn’t a person available to play the last post and revile. Anyone who is able to help out please contact – Caroline Doran clerk@moretoninmarshtowncouncil.co.uk

Many thanks
