Upper Rissington is a village and civil parish of the same name in Gloucestershire, England. There are around 1,400 electors.
The village is on the site of the former RAF flying school and the airfield is still active. The officers’ accommodation was sold by the MOD to a private developer in 1996, and the village has doubled in size with around 400 new homes added in recent years.
As part of the new development, the village has a new primary school and village hall. Other amenities include the Co-operative store, Badhams Pharmacy, The Hangar, Barnado’s Charity Shop and Runner Bean Health and Fitness studio.
The village lies within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and retains many mature trees throughout, which enhance its character and beauty.
There is a local railway station nearby at Kingham.
Tourist attractions such as the Cotswold Wild Life Park near Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water are within easy reach by car.
