A gas leak earlier in the year highlighted how important it is to be prepared in case of an emergency. Two air ambulances were brought in to evacuate casualties, and the Village Hall was available as a refuge for people unable to return to their homes until the area was declared safe.

The parish council is setting up a group to produce a Community Emergency Plan. This document will identify what is needed to help local residents respond to and recover from an emergency.

Do you have skills or resources that would help the community in an emergency? Are you willing to lend your time to help create or co-ordinate the plan? If so then please contact the clerk: clerk@upperrissington-pc.gov.uk.
