On Thursday 28 March at 6:30pm, the Upper Rissington Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will be hosting a community event in the Village Hall to gain insights into what the neighbourhood plan should cover.
The event will be facilitated by planning consultant Andrea Pellegram MRTPI who will be supporting the Steering Group in the preparation of the plan – to help turn the vision into policy.
Neighbourhood planning gives communities the power to develop a shared vision for their area and for these to be expressed in planning policies that will be used to assess local planning applications.
The event will be a short discussion of what neighbourhood planning can achieve and then interactive exercises to look at the strengths and weaknesses of Upper Rissington, a discussion about our vision for the future and then a short discussion about what policies the plan might contain. There will be a focus on green spaces.
It will be an interesting 2 hours and we hope that you can join us to share your views with the steering group.
Following the consultation, the proposal to designate a neighbourhood area for Upper Rissington was considered by Cotswold District Council on 22nd February, and it was agreed to designate the neighbourhood area as per the boundaries requested. This means the area is designated and the parish can progress the development of a Neighbourhood Plan for this area. Please see the attached notice for more details.
Upper Rissington Parish Council has submitted a proposal to designate a Neighbourhood Area. The proposal includes most of Upper Rissington Parish, less the area within RAF Little Rissington, and the portion of the Victory Fields Development lying within Great Rissington Parish. You can view the details of the area proposed by visiting www.cotswold.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplanning/consultations.
Designation of a Neighbourhood Area is the first formal stage in developing a Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan is a way for residents to help shape how their community develops over the coming years. This is not formal consultation on a Neighbourhood Plan, but simply the identification of the area to be covered by the plan.
