Planning Enforcement

Planning enforcement is a function of the planning system which gives local planning authorities the powers to address harmful impacts of unauthorised development. Planning enforcement action serves a remedial purpose, meaning that action is taken to remove the harm caused by a breach of planning control.

Cotswold District Council is the local planning authority in this area, and has published a Local Enforcement Plan (January 2018) . This useful document outlines what is and is not a breach of planning control, how to report a breach and what to expect when you do.
