Much of Upper Rissington is a conservation area and the village lies within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Cotswold District Council based in Cirencester are responsible for many of the local services while the local Parish Council plays an active role in maintaining the village and providing additional local facilities.
Local amenities include the Cooperative shop within the village.
Attractions such as the Cotswold Wild Life Park near Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within easy reach by car.
The future is exciting as within the next few years the village gains 368 new dwellings, shops, public house, school and community centre.
The Parish Council is made up of volunteers who live in the village, who give up some of their free time to help make the village a better place.
The Parish Council meets normally on the first Monday of each Month at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. The public are more than welcome to attend and comment on items on the agenda for that meeting.
